Before and After - Water Plant Flower

My wife was at the local nursery and saw some water plants in a large pot.  She bought one plant, brought it home and placed it in a small container filled with water.  I didn't have any idea that this plant would produce a flower.  It was a couple months after she bought it that a flower emerged.  I was surprised to see the flower and at the time wasn't able to photograph it until the next day, but by the next day the flower was totally wilted, so that was disappointing.  A few weeks later another flower appeared and this time I made sure to capture before I lost it again.

I used Smart Photo Editor to crop the image, and then added a white border that helped hided some of the distractions around the flower. I also gave the images a watercolor painted look.  Here is the finished image and then the out of the camera image. Shot at f/32.
