Tree trunk, root and cones, from a Bristlecone Pine tree shot in the Eastern Sierra Mountains in California.  This grove of trees lives at 11,000 feet in elevation and some of the trees can be aged at 5,000 years old.  They are some of the oldest living things on the planet.
