Finding What Makes You Happy as a Photographer

In 2001 I purchase my first 35mm camera and a variety of lenses.  I knew I wanted to be a nature photographer which covered landscapes, wildlife, and macro.

For the first three years I traveled to some of the national parks for the landscapes, tried shooting wildlife at my local parks, but my passion through those early years was macro subjects.

By 2004 I gave up on landscapes and wildlife, and decided to put all my time afield into being the best macro photographer I could be.

Being dedicated to one style helps you to become better at that one style rather than dividing your limited time between three different styles.

Find what your passion is in photography and dedicate all your time to being the best you can, and you will be rewarded as you see your skills improve.
