I Use My Camera's Self Timer

A self-timer on a camera is a feature that delays the shutter release, allowing the photographer to be in the shot. It’s commonly used for group photos, self-portraits, or any situation where the photographer needs a few moments to get into position after pressing the shutter button. Here's how to use it:

  1. Activate the Self-Timer:

  2. Locate the self-timer option on your camera. This is often found in the menu settings or as a button/icon on the camera body (sometimes marked with a clock or timer symbol).

  3. Set the Timer Duration:

  4. Choose the delay time. Common options are 2, 5, or 10 seconds. Longer delays give more time to get into position.

  5. Compose Your Shot:

  6. Set up your camera on a stable surface or tripod. Frame your shot and ensure the focus is correct.

  7. Press the Shutter Button:

  8. I use the time delay with the self-timer to give me time to position my printed background behind the subject I'm shooting.

In a few months I will be setting up my online "Flower Photography Club"
