Ann Gorman, Photographer and Artist, has a nice ring to it and I feel like I’m making progress towards these titles. This recently retired pharmacist from Northwest Indiana grew up on a quiet cul-de-sac surrounded by nature. I have also lived in Pittsburgh, PA; Gallup, NM; Phoenix, AZ; Los Alamos, NM; and Bemidji, MN. Each location was unique, providing a different palette of colors, cultures, and environments to explore.

I originally starting shooting to provide inspiration for my drawings and paintings in the 1990s, but soon found that photography is art, challenges me, and allows me to express myself. Hobbyist turned self-taught Photographer in 2018 after being accepted into my first juried community exhibit. My confidence was growing in 2019, but then the COVID Pandemic hit and my time for creativity was cut short. In 2022, I hope to return to my Photography and use it to inspire me in other visual art mediums and explore ways to promote environmental conservation from the ground up.

I use a Canon EOS with a variety of Canon lenses. I enjoy shooting landscapes, including tiny landscapes that include our magnificent pollinators. As a fan of Impressionism, I am also intrigued by, and plan to explore, abstracting images in 2022. My most photographed location is my backyard Pollinator Garden and I often take “nature” hikes with my camera in hand.
