The toughest thing that a macro photographer has to deal with beside clutter behind our subjects is the wind. Very difficult shooting flowers, plant life, bugs when the wind is blowing them around.

This is how you manage the wind. Get out of bed early.

Be out in the field at daybreak and you will have less or no wind for about 90 minutes, and once the sun gets higher up and air warms you will start to get some wind, that's when I head back home.

So all my macro photography is done at daybreak.
