Move Away From Shooting the Done to Death Images

To many people that are landscape, macro, or wildlife photographers, tend to shoot the same old stuff we've seen done a million times.  Same iconic scenes at the national parks, same boring flower in the top third of the frame with a stem under it.  Same old whitetail deer standing broadside in an open field, or woods.

With all the images posted on social media, we've seen more then our share of those images.

It's okay to have those shots in your portfolio of images, but once you've accomplished that, MOVE ON!.

I see people repeating the same concepts in their composition to many times, while I'm thinking, ok we've seen that style of shot enough, what else do you have.

I have all the standard run of the mill shots of subjects, but what I look for when I go out to shoot is something different, unusual, something that people haven't seen before.  Those are the images, that I've won contests with, sold the most in my art shows, and get the highest response in likes and comment when I post them on social media.

Not saying that it's easy finding unique and unusual subjects, but you have to train your thought process when you go out to shoot to always be on the look out for them.

So get out and start searching for something that will have people saying, WOW!
