I was born, raised and currently live in rural Michigan between Saginaw and Flint.

Although I have worked at many jobs, my passion for the past 45 years has always been photography.  I owned and operated a small studio for about 18 years in the 80’s and 90’s.  But, at the present time I shoot mostly for fun.

Presently, my camera equipment includes the Nikon D850 and a wide variety of lenses.  The majority of my close-up work is done with a Nikon 105mm macro lens.

I like shooting both landscape and macro photos.  My close-up subjects of choice are mostly flowers and leaves, along with the occasional butterfly or bug.  Recently I had the opportunity to shoot at Old Car City USA and loved getting up close and personal to classic car door handles, hood ornaments and rust.

I enjoy shooting both outdoors on location and indoors using my tabletop setup.  Some of my favorite locations to shoot macro photos include Formar Nature Preserve, the Detroit Zoo Butterfly House and the wildflower patch in my backyard.  More recently, I have become interested in manipulating photos with software.  When I was a kid, my desire was to draw.  That never materialized.  Photography was the choice I made after realizing that, for me, the camera was a better fit for releasing artistic energy than the pencil.
