I am from a small town in Western, New York (Lewiston) situated about 8 miles north of Niagara Falls

I have been shooting the better part of my life. Probably 50+ years. First as a Hobbyist and later as a professional Wedding and Portrait photography for 30 years. I have only developed an interest in Macro during the last five years and It is now an ongoing love affair.

Until recently, I shot with a Canon 5D Mark IV. I am currently using a Canon R6 Mirrorless Camera and I have had to eat my words about saying I would never switch to Mirrorless. Lesson learned: Never say Never.

For my Macro work I am using  a Canon RF 100mm Macro (1.4 : 1) Lens, Canon 180 EF Macro lens and a Laowa 100mm 1-1 / 2-1. I own a number of other lenses including a few Lensbaby’s

It is really difficult to say what my favorite subject is because I find everything around me to be interesting. I tend to gravitate to subjects with interesting textures and soft lines. I truly enjoy seeing things from a macro perspective. As is with most people, I never paid attention to the stem or stamen of a flower…just saw a pretty flower and with Macro, a whole new world has emerged.

I enjoying shooting in a local park where there is wooded areas and meadows. I do however spend a great deal of time in my makeshift studio {converted garage} Many of my studio images are made with available light and occasionally use flash. My available light consists of a ceiling light.
